Radially Polarized Doughnut Beam Emitted by a Two-Dimensional Photonic-Crystal Laser

Abstract

Direct generation of a radially polarized doughnut beam from a single-chip semiconductor laser is demonstrated for the first time by using a two-dimensional photonic crystal, which leads to various super-resolution applications in compact optical systems.
