Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate a silicon-based photonic crystal microcavity biosensor. This device is capable of detecting ~1 femtogram of analyte. Its performance is tested with glutaraldehyde-BSA model for quantitive measurements and biotin-streptavidin recognition for selectivity demonstration.
