Abstract

The energy transfer coefficients for Tb<sup>3+</sup>-Yb<sup>3+</sup>-codoped silicate glasses was obtained by a rate equation model. The proposed model can be used to understand the amplification properties in the 0.54?m band under the 0.98?m pumping.
