An Ultra Low Loss THz Waveguide

Abstract

We demonstrate a new concept for guiding THz radiation with dB/km attenuation, by exploiting the unique properties of the TE1 mode of a parallel-plate-waveguide. This represents a thousand-fold decrease of the attenuation over existing waveguides.
