54 GHz Multimode VCSELs by Optical Injection Locking

Abstract

We demonstrate a resonance frequency of 54 GHz and a 3-dB bandwidth of 38 GHz on multi-transverse-mode 1.55-µm VCSELs by injection-locking the fundamental transverse mode using a single-mode continuous-wave high-power master laser.
