We report the lasing characteristics of a room-temperature continuous-wave double-clad Cr<sup>4+</sup>:YAG crystal fiber laser with a record-low threshold of 0.7 mW, more than 500 times lower than any previously reported Cr<sup>4+</sup>:YAG lasers.
