Abstract

Using a novel Yb-doped crystal close-loop cooled at -130°C we demonstrate a 2-6-W multi-kilohertz amplifier delivering sub-200-fs pulses with energies up to 2 mJ. This technology is straightforwardly scalable toward a kHz-repetition-rate multi-mJ output.
