Generating mid-IR source using As2S3-based chalcogenide photonic crystal fibers

Abstract

We found that 25% of the input power of a 2 μm wavelength 1 kW peak-power source can be shifted into the region between 3–5 μm using an As2S3-based chalcogenide PCF. Tapering increases the output at wavelengths above 4 μm.
