Temporal, Spectral, and Spatial Effects of Cross-Phase Modulation with Intense Single-Cycle Terahertz Pulses

Abstract

We demonstrate that the intense electric field of a subpicosecond single-cycle terahertz pulse can control and manipulate the temporal, spectral, and spatial characteristics of a copropagating ultrashort laser pulse through cross-phase modulation.
