Abstract

Ti<sup>3+</sup>:Al<sup>2</sup>O<sup>3</sup>double-clad crystal fiber was grown for the first time. As much as 2.2 ?W of collimated broadband output power was obtained by using a 446-nm diode laser. The coherence length is 1.38 ?m.
