The Effect of the Longitudinal Electric Field and Tensor Susceptibility on the Effective Nonlinear Parameter for Silicon Nanowire Waveguides

Abstract

We show the significant impact of the longitudinal electric field component and full tensor susceptibility on the effective nonlinear parameter in subwavelength silicon nanowire waveguides. Inclusion of these effects is necessary for satisfactory wire modeling.
