We developed a novel Bi<sup>2</sup>O<sup>3</sup>-B<sup>2</sup>O<sup>3</sup>-TeO<sup>2</sup>glass system. This glass shows excellent high transmittance even near the absorption edge ~400 nm, nevertheless its high refractive index and high optical nonlinearity.
