Abstract

Laser diode-pumped Yb<sup>3+</sup>-doped LuAG ceramic laser is reported. Maximum 2.14 W output power and 72% slope efficiency were obtained. Higher thermal conductivity and higher emission cross-section than Yb:YAG will be suitable for thin-disk laser.
