Enhanced Chemical and Biological Sensor Based on Liquid Crystal Using a Bias Electric Field

Abstract

With a suitable bias electrical field, the sensitivity, response speed and signal strength of LC based optical sensor can be improved greatly. The field can enhance the optical anisotropy of LC sensing for binding event.
