Strong Chiral Optical Response using Phase-shifts in a Planar Plasmonic Metamaterial

Abstract

The chiral optical response is an ability to distinguish between states of circular polarization. We show theoretically and experimentally how to obtain a strong chiral response by exploiting phase shifts in arrays of subwavelength-scale plasmonic structures.
