Line-by-Line Pulse-Shaping Reconfigurable at GHz Rates Using Injection-Locked VCSELs

Abstract

We demonstrate pulse-shaping at reconfiguration rates at half the repetition rate of the laser. Injection-locked VCSELs independently modulate four optical comb lines at frequencies up to 3.125 GHz, changing the pulse shape from pulse-to-pulse.
