Metal-clad Semiconductor Nanoring Lasers

Abstract

Lasing in a metal-clad semiconductor ring laser of 0.9λo-diameter and 0.8λo height is demonstrated. It is experimentally shown that the metal coverage is critical in achieving the lasing threshold.
