Gain and noise in long-range surface plasmon-polariton amplifiers

Abstract

A theoretical analysis of gain and noise in a long-range surface plasmon-polariton amplifier is presented. The amplifier structure considered consists of a thin gold film on silica incorporating an index matched gain medium in the form of LDS821 dye molecules in solution.
