Three-dimensional coupled-wave model for photonic-crystal surface-emitting lasers

Abstract

A coupled-wave model that affords an efficient treatment of the full three-dimensional structure of photonic-crystal surface-emitting lasers is developed. The accuracy and validity of the theory are verified via numerical simulations and experiments.
