We report on coherent synthesis of outputs from two ultra-broadband optical parametric amplifiers; their timing is locked to sub-30-as by a balanced cross-correlator. Synthesised pulses have octave-spanning (500-1000 nm) spectra and nearly single-cycle 3.8-fs duration.
