Abstract

Short-pulse-pumped optical parametric amplification (OPA) requires picosecond lasers with high average powers. We report on a regenerative thin-disk amplifier generating over 50 mJ at 2 kHz, 40 mJ at 3 kHz and 30 mJ at 5 kHz with pulse durations of 1.7 ps.
