Abstract

Automated fiber-to-waveguide coupling is demonstrated in silicon photonics by a ContactLess Integrated Photonic Probe (CLIPP) not requiring an external photodetector. The CLIPP monitors the light-dependent waveguide impedance, providing a feedback signal to the alignment system.
