Detection of Laser Damage Precursors in High Power Laser Materials by Photothermal Reflectance Microscopy

Abstract

We present a wide-field photothermal reflectance microscopy for fast mapping of the laser damage precursors inside optical materials. This method offers a mapping speed of about 0.03 mm2 per minute and detectivity of a few tens of nanometers.
