Abstract

The history, motivation and background of scanning holographic microscopy is briefly reviewed. Advantages of the method are illustrated, showing the possibility of capturing simultaneously a number of holograms accessing different imaging modes such as absorbance, reflectance, fluorescence contrasts, and quantitative phase contrast.
