Abstract (40-Word Limit): We present a theoretical method that combines statistical information from surface roughness, mode field distribution and fibre geometry to accurately describe roughness scattering in hollow-core photonic bandgap fibres. The method predicts angular distributions of scattered power and attenuation values that agree well with experimental data.
