Scalable Optical Packet Switch for Multiple Data-Rate Packets Using RF Tone Based In-Band Labeling

Abstract

We propose a novel labeling technique for an optical packet switch based on in-band RF tones. We demonstrate error-free operation for 160 Gb/s RZ-OOK packets and 40 Gb/s NRZ/RZ-OOK packets using this new labeling technique.
