Abstract

A fluorescence confocal microendoscope has been developed that couples a slit-scan confocal microscope to a flexible three mm diameter catheter. The catheter with fiber bundle, lens, and pneumatic focus mechanism can be inserted through the therapeutic instrument channel of a conventional endoscope. Applications in GI and OB-GYN imaging are presented.
