Interference of non-diffracting quantum light beams: a quantum Talbot effect

Abstract

We report a quantum interference of Bessel beams by using photon pairs generated by spontaneous parametric down-conversion. The photon pairs transmitted by two double annular slits exhibit a typical classical Talbot behaviour except for the fact that the period of image reproduction is doubled, corroborating the concept of the biphoton.
