Abstract

In the past decade, orbital angular momentum of photon was revealed, which classically manifests itself via helicoidal shape of a beam wavefront. This helicoidal structure reflects the combination of longitudinal energy flow and transversal circulation, which creates so called optical vortex (OV). Different techniques of OV investigation are overviewed.
