Sources of optical contrast in biological tissues

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

This tutorial will survey a variety of optical techniques for biological spectroscopy and imaging. Point measurements, superficial and diffusive imaging as well as multi-modality imaging techniques will be discussed. Specific examples will be presented from our own research on breast cancer detection using optical spectroscopy.
