Grating-Mediated Waveguiding

Abstract

We propose a new method for optical waveguiding in which a linear grating confines light in a direction transverse to the grating wavevector. This grating-mediated waveguiding occurs only for two Bragg-matched beams that are symmetrically incident upon the grating.
