Abstract

We formulate the error propagation in a slope-type zonal wavefront reconstruction with the eigenvalues of the wavefront reconstruction normal matrix. With an optimized indexing order, we show that the Southwell's configuration with an odd-number of grid-dimension is the optimal grid geometry for minimizing error propagation and thus optimizing reconstruction accuracy.
