Waveguides based on High Refractive Index Metamaterials

Abstract

We recently discovered that metallic films with a sub-wavelength periodic arrangement of nano-slits act as dielectric slabs with an arbitrary high refractive index controlled by geometry only. Here, we investigate waveguides based on these metamaterials.
