Capturing and Simulating Physically Accurate Illumination in Computer Graphics

Abstract

We present techniques for capturing high dynamic range, omnidirectional images of real-world illumination, and we use such datasets to realistically illuminate computer-generated scenes and objects. Examples from short animations and feature films illustrate the techniques.
