Abstract

An abrupt transverse-mode transition from an amorphous to a TEM00 lasing pattern against the pump power is demonstrated in a thin-slice Nd:GdVO4 laser. Chaotic pulsations and high-speed modulations were observed associated with amorphous lasing patterns.
