Temporal confinement of high order harmonic emission by polarization gating.

Abstract

We generate high-order harmonics with a short pulse having a time-dependent polarization. Controlling this polarization evolution leads to a confinement and control of the VUV emission as we observed both in the spectral and temporal domain.
