Generation of attosecond soft x-ray supercontinuum by a polarization gating

Abstract

High-order harmonic generation was gated by a laser field with a time-dependent ellipticity. When the linear polarization portion is less than one optical period, the high harmonic spectrum is a supercontinnum that covers 30-100 eV.
