Formation of high efficiency, low noise orientational grating in nematic liquid crystal cells under applied ac electric field

Abstract

Orientational grating is formed in nematic liquid crystal cells by simultaneous application of spatially modulated light and ac electric field. High diffraction efficiency ~ 30 % with reduced noise and formation time has been achieved.
