A Novel Monte Carlo Simulation of Light Transport in the Human Finger towards Non-Invasive Measurement of Blood Hemoglobin Concentration

Abstract

A new approach for Monte Carlo calculation of light transport in the human finger is presented. A three-scale model of blood vessels is introduced. Excellent agreement with in-vivo measurements is obtained in the NIR range.
