The Inverse Source Problem of the Equation of Radiative Transfer in Fluorescence and Bioluminescence Tomography

Abstract

The equation of radiative transfer is employed for solving the inverse source problem of optical reporter probes in highly scattering small animal tissue. Gradient-based and stochastic optimization methods minimize a χ2-error function and recover the unknown spatial probe distributions.
