Abstract

Regeneration of 40-Gb/s signal with limiting amplification in a quantum-dot semiconductor optical amplifier is demonstrated. Polarization insensitivity we have realized recently is now ready to be combined to yield a high-speed polarization-insensitive regenerative amplifier.
