Ultrashort pulse excitation for nonlinear optical microscopy

Abstract

Two-photon absorption is characterized as a function of pulse duration for molecular systems. Enhancement in fluorescence intensity is observed for shorter pulses and depends on the relative spectral widths of two-photon absorption and pulse bandwidth.
