Optically driven mechanical systems at nano- to micro-scale

Abstract

The aim to build and apply mechanical systems at ever smaller scale runs into many problems. The use of the linear momentum, orbital and spin angular momentum of light solves many of these difficulties and provides means to drive such systems.
