Probing localization in absorbing systems via Loschmidt echos

Abstract

Using echo dynamics we probe diffusive or localized random media even in the presence of absorption. Our theory, based on a Random matrix approach, is supported by experimental measurements with disordered quasi-one-dimensional waveguides.
