Long-range surface-plasmon waveguide sensors consisting of asymmetric double metalfilms, a resonance grating and µ-fluidic channel sandwiched between the metal layers are described. 10<sup>-6</sup>index resolution and sub-nm detection limit for sensing biomolecules are achievable.
