Optical Microspherical Resonators for Biomedical Applications

Abstract

Microoptical devices based on Whispering Gallery Modes exhibit peculiar properties, the most notable being a very high quality factor. Here results are presented on the development of an immunosensor based on a microspherical glass resonator.
