Comparative study on the temperature dependent emission cross section of Nd:YAG, Nd:YVO4, and Nd:GdVO4

Abstract

It was found that the temperature dependence of stimulated emission cross section (σem) of Nd:YVO4 and Nd:GdVO4 were severer than Nd:YAG. σem of Nd:YAG, Nd:YVO4, and Nd:GdVO4 decreased 0.20%/°C, 0.50%/°C, and 0.48%/°C at 20°C, respectively.
