Laser scanning confocal microscopy and luminescent polymer: improving structural characterization of cellulose fibers

Abstract

A new method for characterization of the lignocellulosic fibers after biodegradation has been developed using a combination of laser scanning confocal microscopy (LSCM) and soluble, highly fluorescent polymer. It was possible to perform the mapping of the enzymatic action and PTHT incorporation on the fiber wall.
