Abstract

The toroidal spectral responses of solenoid-like toroidal metamolecule integrated by four gold U-shaped split-ring resonators (SRRs) at optical frequencies are numerically studied. By analyzing the electromagnetic distribution in near-field region at the plasmonic resonances, we found toroidal and magnetic resonances generated by magnetic dipoles around the SRRs at frequency 112.3 THz and 122.1 THz, respectively. Downsizing the structure achieve observation of a plasmonic toroidal mode at optical frequencies in four U-shaped SRRs.
