Volume Hologram Filter Design for Mitigation of Daytime Sky Brightness in Satellite Detection

Abstract

We investigate the concept of using volume hologram filters to improve contrast of solar–illuminated artificial satellites observed with ground–based telescopes in the daytime. Daylight background rejection of more than 90% is achieved.
